Argh. Ladies, enjoy Exile tonight - I am going to have to watch it tomorrow on Iplayer. My friend has just been given the elbow by her boyfriend. I am kicking myself secretly for saying "well if you are feeling down, come round..." to which she replied, "I'll be over at 7, and I'll bring wine and DVDs..."

Good news Ladies, turns out I got to have Exile on in the background when I was talking to my friend - so I still don't know what was going on, but I did get something nice to look at - and when I pointed it out to her - she said "he's kinda hot for an older guy"... which I was stunned by - though I have never thought of him as older. Gonna watch on iplayer now

If anyone is interested Dean Andrews (Ray Carling of course) is running the BUPA Great Manchester Run in a couple of weeks time raising funds for the Alzheimers Society. If you would like a link then just PM me.

John's received an RTS nomination for best actor for his role in Exile:
http://www.rts.org.uk/rts-announces-shortlist-programme-awards-2011
Congrats!!!

He's up against Dominic West for his role in Appropriate Adult, which also received nominations for best actor (female) and best writer (drama).
I'm hoping that the RTS doesn't tend to recognize performances involving mental or physical disabilities, as do American award entities.
Can anyone fill me in on Eric & Ernie?

This is fantastic news - really cheered me up and its no more than John deserves. If he doesn't win this I will be so dissapointed. Eric & Ernie is about British Comedians Eric Morcambe and Ernie Wise.
I really really hope John wins this... a bit dissapointed Exile was nominated in any other category as well to be honest, but at least his pivotal role was recognised!
The one thing that struck me about the other two dramas in this category is that Exile alone is purely fictional - Appropriate Adult is a drama based on real life serial killer Fred West (having once walked past the very road where the murders took place I have to say just the idea of it makes me shudder, I'm afraid I didn't watch it much as I admire Dominic West) and Eric & Ernie is kind of a bio-pic, being about the two late comedic duo (I grew up watching them on TV, their shows are still funny today, if perhaps a little dated - they even 'appeared' on Life on Mars (S2 E1)... anyway, not sure of the relevance of all this, just thought it was interesting!

Today's Telegraph has an article headlined "Who Should Win at the RTS Television Awards?" - in which readers are invited to cast their own votes.
Thus far, with 44 votes in, Dominic West is the choice of 56.82%. Daniel Rigby 31.82%, and John just 11.36%.
Come on, people, we can't let this go on! Cast your vote for JS at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvand....ann ounced.html
