What John did in NN is prove that bad guys can have their feelings hurt too. I'm not sure I ever cared before if the baddie was sad, but John makes me care. Genius.

It does make me wonder what John Parlour would have been like if he hadn't been hurt emotionally. Some stories have an inevitability about them, but here I thought things could have gone either way.

I loved the changes of mood - John's enthusiasm really was contageous, but when thwarted his anger was frightening.

Thanks for the link! I've been looking everywhere for The Yellow House. Unfortunately, I can't click a button on the 4oD site that says I'm over 16 to view it!! Trying to resolve this. New to the site, and happy to find more fans!

Back again... unfortunately, can't access 4oD in the states. Ah well. Hopefully Never Never and The Yellow House will pop up somewhere sooner or later.

I just purchased "Never Never" on DVD (unofficial version) at raretvclassics@live.co.uk. The cost, including shipping to the U.S., was 13.99 GBD. I'll let you know the quality once I receive it. Very important: The format is Region 2 (but I'm sure most Simm fans residing in the U.S. already have an all-region DVD player).

I found a site, which may or may not be the same as the one you ordered from Peter Popper. I got a warning:

You are about to log on to the site "live.co.uk" with user name "raretvclassics" but the website doesn't require authorization. This may bean attempt to trick you. Is "live.co.uk the site you wanted to visit?

On further investigation, it appears to be a hotmail account?

Found a similar site with a different URL. Loads of very interesting titles... I'm looking at Lipstick On Your Collar, an early Ewan McGregor television programme! Had this site been recommended to you? Please let us know how you make out with your order.

Just finished watching Never Never, it was uncomfortable viewing at times because it felt too real. Men like John Parlour do exist and work to rip poorer people off. John was incredible, strange to see him in such a role as the "everyman" brilliant at every turn, does this man ever have bad days acting?

Really looking forward to The Yellow House which is next on my list ;D

Just purchased the DVD of The Yellow House from amazon.co.uk! It was the last one available through ClassicFILMandTV (they can be emailed through amazon). It's a Dutch release but it's the original audio in English. Also available through boek.net, but can only be shipped to Holland and Belgium. I am soooo excited!

Thanks for the info Peter Popper. I've an AVI file of The Yellow House. Don't understand why the Dutch market needs a DVD (which is lovely they promote John's portrayal of a much beloved Dutch artist!) more than the UK. Suppose people would just record it over telly, but then that could be said of any other broadcast as well, eh?

Talk about round about ways of getting DVDs, I purchased Chiller for John's episode Here Comes the Mirror Man from Australia - DVDOrchard
http://www.dvdorchard.com.au/ProductS1.asp?CS=1&PND=144574&Qno=TBCTIC0TPC0

Very good service btw.

Oh, the lengths we'll go to get our JS fix!! :D

The only major work of John's that I'm still missing is Devilwood. Does anyone have any clips, besides the official ones?
