OH bought me A2A Series 3 sountrack and I've been listening to it in the car on the way to and from work. A wonderful trip down memory lane. The Stranglers, Spandau Ballet, Frankie Goes to Hollywood...

I didn't even know there was an A2A S3 soundtrack out! Will have to look out for that - love 80's music!
I'm listening to Avantasia's 'The Wicked Symphony' at the moment - I find it very helpful when writing Doctor/Master fic (or any fic in which the Master features - most of my fic is not actually slash!)... How about these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRmfjBDKCpE
Wastelands lyrics by Avantasia
A moment of glory The blink of an eye and it's all gone You hide in confinement Dark is the cell that you call home
We pretend to be blind everytime it hurts to see
You - you close your eyes To blink the night away At ease in the wastelands You - you're dead and blind You sanctify the way Blindfold in the wastelands Don't tell me in pain The end doesn't justify the means Spado, ascetic It's easy to sermonize in jealousy
Now I'm off to life I'm changing sides Your final goodbye
You - you close your eyes To blink the tears away Love hurts in the wastelands You - you're old and blind You sacrifice it all Lost in the wastelands
I crave the morning quickly come I get down on my knees and pray And hope the dawning pulls me right out (right out) of my dream
You walk right by my window Everyday I can feel you so near When will you come to get me out (get me out) of my fear
Would you unind me? If you'd finally find me.
I am tied to the ground. Ready to be unbound. Would you break me out and Would you help me to get out get out? Pull me out!
Each day a new tomorrow And I long for the same old aim I'm bound in bitter sorrow - I know, I want out, but I can't
Would you unleash me? If you'd perceive me.
I am tied to the ground. Ready to be unbound Would you break me out and Would you help me to get out get out?
I am tied to the ground. Ready to be unbound Would you break me out and Would you help me to get out get out? Pull me out!
Get me out - please hear my prayer Do you think it'll go that way? I get down on my knees and pray Do you think it'll go that way? I get down on my knees and pray"
I am tied to the ground. Get me out just to dry my tears Ready to be unbound Yes I pray
Would you break me out and Would you help me to get out get out? Pull me out!"
"Frozen and broken Don't know where you're going Losing your identity You're so caught up in hiding But everybody sees
[Chorus:]
You're never gonna feel You're never gonna heal You're never gonna know what's fake or real 'Til you know who you are You're lying to your face And running in a race You're never gonna win 'til you find your place And you know who you are
You're crawling and falling But no one hears you calling When you're in a world of glass 'Til your bubble bursts And the true you's first You're always coming last
[Chorus]
You take yourself apart To medicate the pain It shouldn't be this hard To believe in you again "
And the title track:
Lyrics to The Edge Of Infinity : "Can you see the light we're going into? Feel the power. It's a journey to a better world. All you have to do is to believe We're heading forward. And we will be kings and queens
[Chorus:] To the edge of infinity, an invisible reality Where the power of thoughts sets me free On the journey to wonderland I will hold the key in my own hands If dreams can come true let us dream
There are a hundred ways to reach the space Between two worlds. See the open door in front of Imagination helps to navigate Take the next step. Sailing through the sea of time"
Not only are the lyrics awesome, the music is beautiful. It's Rock, according to iTunes...

Thanks edzel2 - haven't had the opportunity to match the lyrics to the music as yet, but I will *songs: poetry put to music *
Listening to Gavin Glass. This video is from one one of my subscriptions (Myles O'Reilly , filmmaker/musician) - again not my expertise, but I think the video's brilliant as well - a lovely vehicle to present the music.
It's brilliant! Definitely a 'grower' - it took me a couple of playings to appreciate (mind you, I own and enjoy all their earlier work so I knew it would just be a matter of time).
I think this might do for them what 'Supermassive Black Hole' being featured in 'Twilight' did for Muse... unless they are already big; I don't actually know as I don't tend to follow bands in quite the same way as I follow favourite actors' careers. I just buy the CD's/DL the music and occasionally go to a gig, rarely read the music press or go on forums (there aren't enough hours in the day!).
The album is exactly an hour long and is sublime... the melodies are just.... well, I just go into a sort of state of bliss when I listen to it.
Another good one is Dove's new album 'Kingdom of Rust'. Awesome...

Ooh, yes... I definitely like that! They remind me a bit of The Last Shadow Puppets - have you ever heard them? They have a similar kind of echoey sound to them, almost as if it was recorded in the 1960's...? I will definitely give them more of a listen as soon as I can stop playing Arcade Fire, lol!
Last Shadow Puppets have only released the one album so far... must be about due for another, I think!

I must try having a listen to that sonia.
I love the theme to LOM and it's a bit bewildering that you have to wait through a minute's silence after the dialogue on the last track of the soundtrack album to hear it!
