I thought I'd start a thread for people to post Simm-related tweets. I'm not talking about generic fan tweets or stalkery tweets. Here's what I mean:
@CathTuckwell
Met John Simm and Philip Glenister in audience of Aldwych theatre! Stunned! Both very nice! Got Marc Warren's autograph after play too!
They attend concerts and plays together. Those boys are tight!

There was another one similar to that last night;
@miss__moss
Cool Hand Luke is brilliant! Marc Warren is superb! My crush continues. In the audience is Gene Hunt, The Master & Richard Curtis.

That's a brilliant idea, PeterPopper - I often come across mentions of John on Twitter and it'll be nice to be able to share them here.
Here are a couple of recent ones which caught my eye:
I served John Simm his coffee this morning!!! It was a hard not to go all fangirl! XD I'm such a huge fan!
and another....
Ah! Thought it was Sat/sun! Marc Warren in the play, and John Simm and Philip Glenister were but 10 seats away in the audience!
and finally, because I love this:

I know you said we weren't going to be sharing stalkery messages, PP, but collecting tweets about John's whereabouts is something I'm very uncomfortable with. A cafe might be a public place, but John would be there as a private person and I think we should respect that privacy. I know these tweets are already published, but it is a different matter to collect them in one place where they can indeed serve as stalker encouragement. I think it's less problematic when he's spotted at an event like a play, and it's nice to share when people say complementary things about his work. In my opinion we should avoid the 'celebrity-spotting' ones. I'd like to hear other opinions before I make any decisions, though.

There have been many tweets regarding JS's activities, in very public places, and I haven't shared those. I thought this one was appropriate as he was with Phil Glenister supporting a friend's production.
If you feel these cross the line, then please have no qualms in taking down this thread. I too don't want to promote stalkish (is that a word?) behavior and think discretion should be used in publishing tweets or any form of celebrity-tracking communication.

Stalkish should definitely be a word even if it isn't! Thanks for your comments, PP. Btw I moved the thread to this board as it makes more sense here, I think. Hope that's ok.

Thanks for the move. I was having problems with my PC when I was creating this thread; it kept closing this site! Anyhoo, my intent was to place this in the General Board, so thanks much!

Mmm... yes, that actually makes some kind of sense to avoid the ones that are more personal... like shops and places that might be his regular haunts - I'll edit my post in a mo! I think the coffee shop one is okay though? Because it isn't named, could be anywhere...
Edit: Done! (although dare I say that if someone actually wanted to seriously stalk anyone, they wouldn't need this thread to do so - just live on twitter?! Personally I don't feel that 'cyber-stalking' is that awful; in itself it's harmless but if it gravitates to 'following in the street stalking' then it gets scary - and is definitely wrong...)

edzel2 - thanks for the edit!
I agree that there is a difference between online and real stalking, but unfortunately it's impossible to know how information is used once it's out there. You're right - if someone searches for this sort of thing every day it would be easy to find, but I still think collecting it in one place is crossing the line, somehow. Also in terms of what signal we're sending out as a forum.
I feel an intense need to put a few smiley faces on the end of this post - I don't enjoy being the forum police!!!

I understand exactly what you're saying, and totally agree. We are trying to walk a fine line here.

You can watch online for the next 7 days on bbc iplayer... just about to watch!!!
Edit: for those who don't want to watch the whole thing it's the United-City peice... I'll give the timings once I've seen it:
gemmaarcher84 Gemma Archer Didn't recognise John Simm on the United-City piece til he spoke! #SPOTY 2 hours ago Favorite Retweet Reply
OK - about one hour in... a couple of comments (in a bar, with a pint and looking *GUH*). If anyone can screen cap it I'd be forever grateful...

If I can successfully download Expat Shield, which will let me access iplayer, I'll screencap the Simm out of it!
