I've not seen any mention of JS at the party and since I don't remember him being on any covers over the past year I suspect it's not the sort of thing he'd be inclined to attend.

I would imagine that, unless there's something else mega exciting at the same time, a cover with him and Jim Broadbent would be a good possibility.

The RT party appears to be for those who have been on recent covers. Dunno the invite list.. but I agree SH, this wouldn't be John's kind of thing....

Info gleaned from http://www.david-tennant.com/ and RT website

The biggest news of course is Much Ado About Nothing - other Tennant news.

Do the Radio Times just put BBC programmes on it's cover?
I'm hoping for a Mad Dogs one but it's unlikely. Probably be on the covers of the satelite biased mags I should think.

Downton Abbey was on the cover, so they do include ITV, although I imagine they're less likely to show Sky. They'll probably put something inside, since the mag concentrates on the main channels.

Little bits of news about DT:

Tennant and Broadbent nominated for best actor at RTS Awards
As DT is up for his role for Single Father and JB for Any Human Heart, I will have to say I favour the elder thespian...This is England '86 showed really well with Johnny Harris...terrific sequel to This is England

http://www.thestage.co.uk/news/newsstory....ws+Headlines%29

David, among many others, rally for support of the arts. Without a full accounting myself, I have observed, even during the height of the recession, people thronged to the theatre...

It seems that in times of economic depression and worry, people need ways of escaping everyday worries even more than usual, which I think may explain the increase in theatre attendance in recent times. Also, there's been some brilliant productions recently as well, which obviously helps...

UTD, you and me both (re the RT cover). I would be very surprised (and dissapointed) if 'Exile' doesn't get a cover - 'Silk' did, 'Outcasts' did, to name but two recent high-profile productions. Talking to Jinxed recently we felt that Easter Sunday evening might be a likely air time for the first episode of 'Exile'. Hopefully we might find out at the BAFTA preview tomorrow night.... ;D

Radio 4 Saturday Play - The Purple Land
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search?q=saturday%20play

The BBC Press Office:
The Saturday Play presents Andrew Davies's rip-roaring adaptation of WH Hudson's epic Uruguayan adventure starring David Tennant.
Published in 1885, The Purple Land was the first novel of William Henry Hudson, author of Green Mansions.
It is an exuberant, wryly comic account of a young Englishman's imprudent adventures, set against a background of political strife in 19th-century South America. Eloping with an Argentine girl, young Richard Lamb (Tennant) makes an implacable enemy of his teenage bride's father. Leaving her behind, he goes ignorantly forth into the interior of the country to seek his fortune. While doing so he learns to hunt, ride, herd, love and even kill on his way to becoming a man.
In Davies's hands this "road novel" becomes a fast-paced romp in the tradition of Tom Jones, with a dash of Don Quixote for good measure.
Producer/Clive Brill for Pacificus Productions.

Radio Times preview

Also newsworthy, you can download the soundtrack from Much Ado About Nothing on iTunes.

This month's DWM (issue #440, 16 November) features an extensive tribute to Elisabeth Sladen.

In the column Beyond the TARDIS, there's DT news:

Tennnant on Fry's Planet
'David Tennant is interviewed by Stephen Fry on the final episode of Fry's Planet Word, to be shown on 23 October on BBC Two. In it's final week, David and Catherine Tate's Much Ado About Nothing was recorded for download via www.digitaltheatre.com (on DVD for Christmas). David co-hosts Children in Need Rocks Manchester on 17 November at the MEN Arena.'

Call me old fashioned, but doesn't anyone make wedding announcements anymore? Do understand a celb like DT having need to keep everything on the QT before the nuptials -as t would be a mob scene, unfortunately. But after?

Hope this is true, 'cos the romantic in me is giddy with joy for them!!

David and Georgia Marry

Other sources have quoted The Mirror or The Daily Mail, so if this report is pure conjecture or otherwise the result of spying on the couple, please feel free to eliminate this post. We'll convey our congratulations at the appropriate time

Very romantic - getting married on the QT. Although the article said they did follow it up with a big News Years bash.

A few updates as to what David's gotten up to of late.

Wonderful resource for all sorts of programmes Shakespeare Unlocked, including upcoming broadcasts with David in Twelth Night (Malvolio), Sunday, 22 Apr 2012, 20:30 on BBC Radio 3 and Romeo & Juliet (Prince Escalus), Sunday, 29 Apr 2012, 20:30 on BBC Radio 3

Haven't caught up with Kafka the Musical as yet. David plays Kafka

The Minor Character airs on Sky Arts 1 HD on 12th April 2012 at 9pm.
http://skyarts.sky.com/playhouse-presents/the-minor-character

Has anyone seen The Decoy Bride? There are a few clips on yt, but nothing, unfortunately, that has convinced me to purchase the DVD. :-/

What can I say, adverts can be so entertaining! :D
