Just booked train tickets for mum and I. 26th May matinee. Will be great to see John back on stage again. Looking forward to finding out the rest of the casting and to see a few photos from rehearsals.

Oooh, hadn't even thought about rehearsal photos -- that would be great!

Glad to hear you'll be going to Sheffield again, robintussin!

OK, Colin Tierney's name and photo have gone up on the Sheffield Theatres info page for Betrayal (see "Cast & Creatives" tab). John tweeted this some time ago, of course. Now all that remains is the name of the third character, Emma. I wonder if they haven't signed an actress yet or are just trying to announce the info one bit at a time. Either way, it's creating a lot of suspense!

Ahhh; the actress is .....ME!!! (I wish!)
Really looking forward to seeing this....and I think they should seriously consider casting an unknown but very eager actress to play alongside Mr Simm....I think I would fit the bill perfectly.....

;D Wouldn't that be marvellous? (Not to mention terrifying....). It must be weird, you know, if one is in the profession and a fan of somebody and then they get a job working with that somebody... and have to kiss them, etc.... I mean they're only human, aren't they; they can be a fan of someone just as we, the general public, can. Or does being in the profession give one a slightly different perspective...?!?

It is curious though, why they haven't announced anyone yet - could it be that they haven't decided, or are having trouble finding the right person? Or maybe the person they want is playing hard to get (hard as that is to imagine...)... wouldn't we normally know by now? I mean its less than three months away now...

Had to smile at John's tweet about having a day off yesterday and how he should 'p p p pick up the Pinter' and then later about how he had done 'f-all' (presumably meaning that he didn't!)... ;D

I've often wondered what it would be like if you were in that profession and a fan of someone you had to kiss etc. I suppose you would have to remember that it was work after all and keep it all professional. I would also imagine the same thing would happen if you had to kiss etc someone you hated as well.

I'm also finding it a little strange that the actress hasn't been announced yet. Still not long now :)

Reading John's tweet about having the day off and how he should 'p p p pick up the Pinter' and then how he did 'f-all' made me smile too ;)

Thanks for that, robintusin! :) I don't know anything about her, so it'll be fun to see what she can do.

;D You beat me to it! Must say, I'm rather pleased about the choice - the only thing I've seen her in is 'Primeval' but she did play a blinder as 'Helen Cutter', Douglas Henshall's character's wife. ('Nick Cutter', funnily enough) So I think that's all the cast now, apart from the waiter who makes a brief appearance if I remember rightly...

Got my train tickets all booked now.... :)

Edit: I take it back, I also saw her in 'Middlemarch' and 'Outcasts' - enjoyed both of those too (particularly 'Outcasts' - shame it didn't get picked up for a second series).

And I found out she grew up only a few miles from where I did, in Fleet, Hampshire. I'm also a Hampshire lass... ;D

Got my tickets now - we're in rows E and F ( I think off the top of my head) - shame we've not been put closer but then again; it might have been dangerous. Going on 7th June so; if any of you are going to be there then; I'll be the one with the group of big students ...... and they will be the ones pinning me to my seat - just in case lol xxx

I've the official word - Superintendent of Schools has not approved leave for me :'(.

I can't really complain, I've been approved twice before to see John on stage.

Sooo, don't want a front row, aisle seat to remain empty :o (Red Door, seat A 22) for Thursday night, 7/6.
Paid £21 (£20 plus ticketing fee).

Anyone interested in a ticket, pm me.
