2shy that is lovely... I think the whole theme of Exile lends itself well to black and white or sepia, being a haunting story in itself...

Did anyone notice John's wedding ring? Seems he forgot to remove it for the photo-shoot, which is rather touching! It's obviously such a part of him that he just doesn't think to take it off ... it's also in evidence in the 'He was the Brian Jones of Goats' scene in series 1 of 'Mad Dogs' - love those little continuity errors. Especially the underpants that couldn't decide whether to be black or white in S1 E1 (and another ep later on I think)... not that I was especially looking, you understand.... ;D

;D Honestly I didn't notice the underpants but noticed the ring.Yet I thought it's part of the character.

Noticed the ring and the pants :P... The ring's not part of Tom's character, as he self confesses to having commitment issues (bonafide singleton). Baxter seemed betwixt and between, having recently broken off with his wife. At least that's one plausible way to interpret him wearing his wedding ring - he hasn't fully let go.

Terrific stage door Simm courtesy of PP and Sam's final roof scene! ;D

Saw your blurb under the piccie on tumblr 'still depressed as hell over the finale :’('
As I stalwartly subscribed to the sci-fi (Am I.. back in time?) slant to the story, I took the scene as a choice to go back to the real 1973, to save his friends, and of course, get the girl!

I'm a huge of fan sci-fi and I think the first thing that made me a fan of the show was the possibility of time travel. So I can live with that idea but after seeing the first episode of A2A,well that doesn't help much :(
Still I think that's a wonderful finale for the show itself!

I LOVE that montage! I know that the swept-back hairstyle does make him look older (presumably the intention, to make the passing of time during the play's events more obvious, because he definitely looks -and seems- younger in the last (first) scene, and the clothes also aid that impression I feel - it was all very cleverly and subtly done) but it's not at all a bad look.... well, as Julie Gardner (of Dr Who) once said, John is rather 'a clotheshorse' - he could look good in a bin liner.... ;D

I don't know about the hair, 2shy - John does seem to be going grey but whether it was 'greyed up' for the play... I'm not sure. Tend to think not, but it's quite hard to tell. I think it suits him...

I don't think they changed the colour of his hair - maybe because it's longer you see more of the grey, especially when it's brushed back.
He did seem to have it more ruffled for the last scene, which made him look younger ;D
