Well, normally I would travel more slowly but my friends and their parents wanted to go home afterwards, and since i`m their guest i`m going with them. But I would love to stay a few days longer, sight seeing and all. I did go earlier to London which was fun to do

I'm in need of a stiff drink to calm me down cos I'm still raging about what just happened
Some of you might remember that a while back the guy that I (thought) I fancied the most was from Stargate: Atlantis (Paul McGillion). Well I thought I'd see what some of the fans had been up to in their lives and posted a message that said that although I wasn't in love with him I still liked him (I mentioned being in love with Peter and that I could still be a fan of Paul without being in love with him! Well the response was pretty much "How can you choose him over Paul" and that Peter was "nothing compared to Pauly" (or something like that, anyway). That really, really hurt me and I've decided that I'm not gonna post in that topic any more - not with those people's attitudes! Everyone loves different people don't they? That's how the world works! I mean, everyone on here is a fan of John to whatever degree but we don't all gang up on someone who also happens to love David Tennant for example!
*Rant over*
Sorry about all that angst but seeing a lovely guy like Peter slated like that was terrible and really upset me to the point where I was in tears!
Edit: Ok I don't think the girl was being serious after all but it's still pretty annoying

Just ignore them J!! I haven't met anyone who is a fan of someone 'exclusively'. Hell, I have a whole list of actors whose work I love, not just John, and in all honesty, if I HAD to choose, at gunpoint, I'd probably put John behind David Tennant for me. **puts tin hat on and runs for cover***

Aww,i`m sorry to hear that,Mirella*hug* You should see my list of actors, trust me variety is big on there. One of my friends always jokes that she has a harem of actors to choose from

Well...Peter wins on the "I'm in love with you" front but to be honest I don't think I could pick between him, John, David, Phil, Johnny Depp etc. for who I thought was the best actor. They're all brilliant on that front.
I remember people getting slated by some overobsessive David fans on the DT forum occasionally, they were like "How can you be attracted to anyone that isn't David?" I haven't been there for ages (me and Laura decided to start this forum by private message over there ) but I should have a look out of curiosity to see how mad it is!

I wouldn't take it to heart, truly. Some may feel you're disloyal unless you give your all to one and only one performer. For myself, John's numero uno for several reasons, which I've shared often enough, and everyone here understands.
That said, there are any number of performers who resonate with me and I admire their works. Dull world if you can only pick one from the smorgasbord offered!!
Oi listen missy, with the tin hat, about putting David before John... seems we need a little talk... How 'bought we flip a coin - John did say that his Master was the other side of the coin of David's Doctor.
Not a competition, 'cos we can love 'em both. And David - shall we wax enthusiastic about his prowess as a performer, his attributes (sexay ), his personality, intelligence and on and on that makes him so admirable and lovable? I was smitten with him since Blackpool. When I did my catch up, I was astounded with Takin' Over the Asylum .

Tonic water for me please Sam. I need to detox for a bit.
Sorry to hear about you being given a hard time on the PMcG forum you mention Mirela. Give it some time and then post away - why should them being a bit silly stop you posting and discussing him if you still want to.
I'm afraid I'm pining after seeing JS in the flesh. Thought it would be a big fix that would last a while but has left me desperately hoping he does more theatre. Sigh...
*Spots tin hat peeping up from behind bar and picks up bar snacks to throw at it to alleviate frustration*
Hope all goes well tomorrow jinxed. So, water for you too.

He's a key witness. So could you treat him like a person, Phyllis. D'you remember "people"? You used to be one!
Thanks UTD!

Mirela - I'm so sad your feelings were hurt! Believe me, I understand. I'm one of those people who forgot all the other actors I used to admire when JS came along, I mean, I guess I still appreciate them, but to me they pale in comparison. I get really protective of JS when anyone says mean things about him. Maybe the people you're talking about felt equally protective of Paul? That still doesn't excuse their reaction, of course, but maybe thinking that will make it easier for you to get back into posting on the forum. I don't know. It's weird - if someone came on this forum and said "I'm not 'in love' with JS but I appreciate him," I wouldn't get angry. I might wonder why they still want to post about him and I might get a bit annoyed if they only talked about their other crushes, but I don't see why anyone would start attacking someone just because of who they like. That's just weird...
Hope you feel better after your drink! Have another one on me!

Thanks, I'm feeling better now but I don't think I'll be posting in that topic much anyway because they seem incapable of posting about anything other than Paul. Other topics on that board (it's a big Stargate forum) dedicated to actors on it seem to go off-topic quite a bit and there's discussion like in here about what people have been up to in their offline lives. And lo and behold, those other topics have fans on them that like other people as well as just the subject of the topic
I wonder if the reaction would've been the same if I'd actually dared to start going out with Peter? (Not that that's likely to happen but I do think about him all the time, just like people do if they've started seeing someone). I remember someone leaving the same topic a while back because they found someone they liked a whole lot more (true, they were actually dating that person but it's the same kind of thing - your heart gets stolen and other men just don't compare with them in your romantic affections).

just a quick update - my knee surgery went well and although my leg is the size of a small tree and blooming painful, it's a relief to get it over with. On the plus side - enjoying the drugs, getting waited on and the prospect of much DVD viewing I'll no doubt be around here a lot....
